Employment Opportunities
The Village of Riverdale has created Commissions for testing and certifying the eligibility of personnel in the Fire, Police, Public Works Laborer, and Office staff.
The Fire and Police Commission is responsible for hiring for Fire Engineers and Patrol Officers and Promotional Ranks. The official eligibility lists are posted in Village Hall, 157 W. 144th Street. Notices of open testing are placed in newspapers of wide circulation as well as posted in Village Hall.
The Civil Service Commission is responsible for hiring for Public Works Laborer and Clerical staff. The official eligibility lists are posted in Village Hall, 157 W. 144th Street. Notices of open testing are placed in multiple newspapers of wide circulation as well as posted in Village Hall.
Commission members are residents appointed by the Mayor and serve on these commissions as volunteers for their Village.
All other positions are hired through application process at Village Hall. Openings are advertised in the same manner as above.
